Bins for Coolant

Coolant

This refers to water to which antifreeze - a liquid, anti-corrosion lubricant - has been added. It is used to evacuate excess heat in a combustion engine.

What happens with Coolant

Coolants are collected separately so as to be processed in a sustainable way. During distillation, mono-ethylene glycol is extracted from the coolant. After purification, the coolant can be reused in industrial processes such as making coolants for cars. It can also be treated in solvents for the paint industry or undergo a separation process to separate the alcohol and the water.
