Used industrial oil and lubricants are particularly contaminated and dangerous waste, and a significant effort is required to collect them (Valorlub).
Used oil is cleansed of water and solid particles. The remaining product is regenerated to a large extent with a view to being reused; the residue is burned in waste-to-energy furnaces.
