Plastic films

This mainly consists of HDPE film (clear, coloured or printed), PE bubble wrap, stretch film and agricultural foil. Most film comes from packaging waste and cannot be contaminated.

What happens with Plastic films

PE film sorting is carried out in PE bags of 500 litres or more. This makes it much easier to fill the bags. The sorted fractions are compacted into bales or ground down. They are then sold to the plastics processing industry with a view to being recycled.
